2010 Fun Run - Saturday February 13th 2010

(2 February 2010)

It’s Fun Run time of the year again…

Last year was cancelled due to snow but two years ago over 800 students took part in the Run, creating a great atmosphere and raising over £4,000 for Sport in Action Zambia. Our hope is to get somewhere close to doing that again…..but we can only do it with your help.

Students can enter as individuals (£5 per person) or as relay teams of five running 1k each (£20 per team). The entry forms are attached.

As always your support of our key charity events is greatly appreciated. Sport in Action is a great cause (more information at: http://www.sportinaction.org.zm/) and being part of something like the Fun Run presents a real opportunity to raise money for a cause whilst having some fun as an individual or as a team.

Entry forms can be found on our What's On Guide at: http://www.teamdurham.com/about/whatison/

James Dennis Looks Ahead To The Event

Next weekend sees the return of one of Durham University’s biggest sporting events: the Durham Charity Fun Run! The event is of one of three large-scale spectacles put on each year by Team Durham to raise money for Sport in Action Zambia.

The day promises to be a great occasion with the 2008 attendance at more than a 1000 university students - do your bit to help Sport in Action.
The run will take place on the 13th February at Maiden Castle, start time is 10am!

The race is run over 5km and you can do it solo or in groups of five- running one mile each. The entry fee is £5 per runner and is going to a worthy cause.

The aim is to get as many people as possible to participate in the event so get your friends to come along! There are entry and sponsorship forms available from the DUAU, DUCK, and College Sports Officers.
