Queen's Campus
Introduction
The Centre for Life concept is currently part of the Durham University “Sport & Health” programme and is proving to be a great success.
With the development of the NEW Sport and Recreational facilities on Campus in the near future, the University is now in a position not only to develop sport, but to also help improve the health and quality of life among the people of Tees Valley. Everyone from students, staff, local schools, the public and the corporate community can take part and benefit from regular physical activity, which will contribute to a healthier lifestyle.
Based at Durham University, Queen’s Campus, the initiative will look to bring together local partners with specialist knowledge in health, fitness, education, sport and public provision. The Centre for Life will offer new opportunities for students, school and community groups to come to the Campus and follow tailor-made activity programmes and hold sporting tournaments with the support and guidance of professional staff. In supporting the community as a whole, the University will also help in the development of Sporting Excellence in the Tees Valley.
