There has never been a better time to join Durham University Women’s Association Football Club (DUWAFC). Following two successive promotions, the 2012-13 season will see the women’s 1st team compete in the top tier of university football for the first time in their history. The club also compete in the British Universities National Futsal competition, of which they are current champions following a successful 2011-12 campaign. DUWAFC also benefit from a 2nd team and a strong link with Durham Wildcats Football Club, allowing University players to take part in a local league at weekends as well as compete in the Women’s FA Cup competition.

DUWAFC benefit from an in depth training programme which includes 3-4 technical sessions and 2-3 fitness sessions every week during the playing season. Head Coach Richard Warburton, along with Strength and Conditioning Coach Luke Southgate, aim to provide a professional and enjoyable working environment for players to gain as much as possible from this unique experience as well as provide the foundations for club success. Although equally enjoyable, the 2nd team has less training demands and can be a good stepping stone into the 1st team programme.
