Lacrosse (Women's)
One of the most exciting women's lacrosse programmes in Europe
Durham University Women's Lacrosse Club is in one of the most exciting phases of its fourty year history. The 2008 and 2009 British University Trophy Champions and Championship Quarter Finalists are going into their second year with a full time coach and with the addition of a series of age group international players and postrgraduate arrivals from the NCAA, the Durham programme has established itself as one of the strongest in Britain and Europe. Durham has a unique relationship with the Enlgish Lacrosse Association and are working towards establishing Men's and Women's H.E. Lacrosse Academy status within the next six months with the intention of becoming the leading lacrosse university in Britain. Senior Coach, Emily Blatter, is going into her second year at Durham and is responsible for the development of a performance, participation and junior development programme.
Internationals currently involved in the programme include: Katie Sloane, Alicia Hockless, Emily Green, Tash Bott, Verity Allinson, Sam Chisholm, Rachael Phillips and Alsi Buchan.
The club have three sides that compete on a weekly basis throughout the British University season. This allows the club to cater for a range of abilities from one on one coaching for some of the very best student lacrosse players in Britain to providing regular structured training sessions for students that simply enjoy the game.
