Durham Palatinates head down south as they begin their WBBL trophy campaign

(27 September 2019)

The Durham Palatinates make the long journey down south as they start their WBBL trophy run with a double header against Essex Rebels this evening and Sheffield Hatters tomorrow at midday.

After narrowly missing out in the Trophy final last season, the Palatinates are looking to go one better this year. Betsy MacDonald who was included in last year’s roster said, “Getting back to the Trophy Final and winning would be a great achievement for us.”

Sunny Wiliams added, “Hopefully this year we'll give Durham something to be excited about, we are still developing but have achieved so much already. I know Lee isn't going to let us stop the hard work so I'm sure we can keep climbing!”

This follows a successful recruitment campaign for Coach Lee Davie as an impressive list of new faces stacks up at the ambitious Palatinates, including the likes of Kara Elderkin, Mollie Campbell, Dee Hayward, Claire Paxton and Nicolette Fong Lyew Quee.

The Palatinates are in action today at 5pm against the Essex Rebels and tomorrow at 12pm against the Sheffield Hatters.
