Important Visitor Information

Preparatory work began on 18 June 2018. It will finish in time for the construction of the new indoor sports facilities to begin at the end of July. This will continue until August 2019 when the new sports centre will open.

During this time, temporary access and parking arrangements will be in effect. The sport centre’s existing car park will become the construction site; the new overflow car park will be for all staff, student, and visitor parking.

Temporary pedestrian routes from the overflow car park to the sports centre have been established and signs on site clearly indicate these.

Once the new sports facilities have been built, the existing Graham Sports Centre will be refurbished from August 2019 until November 2019.

The temporary access and parking arrangements are shown on the linked/attached plans. All sports centre users are encouraged to become acquainted with these arrangements before arriving to avoid confusion and any potential risks to health and safety.

For further information, please contact Barry Frost, Senior Project Manager in Estates and Buildings, extension 46016, email barry.frost@durham.ac.uk.
