JBWFC defend futsal crown

(20 April 2017)

It has been a very successful season so far for JBWFC. Alongside finishing top of the futsal premiership with 6 wins from 6 games, the team also finished 3rd in the college football premiership. One game remains for JBWFC to see if they can take home a further piece of silverware - the trophy final against Collingwood.

Futsal Success:

After having won the first futsal league last year, the pressure was on for JBWFC to claim the title once again. The first match of the season proved to be the most difficult, facing the team that was to finish second in a tight match and winning by 4 goals to 1. The success continued on for JBWFC from then, going undefeated during the whole season in which time the team scored 48 goals in total and conceded only 4. The highlight of the season was a 14-0 win over Grey, in which every player managed to score at least one goal. We finished the season 6 points ahead of our closest competitors, allowing us to claim the title once more. We are delighted to have won the futsal league for the second consecutive year, and look forward to defending the title next year.

JBWFC take on Collingwood next Wednesday (26th) in the college trophy final. Kick off is 8:30pm on the Old Crumb, come down and show your support!
