The Team Durham Outreach department manages a diverse range of adult projects within the County Durham area. Members of the local community and an increasing number of external agencies work in alliance to promote improved physical fitness, emotional and psychological well-being and reduce social isolation. Adult provision has grown over the last few years with community projects becoming bigger and better. Student coaches and volunteers along with professional coaches help to keep this quality coaching accessible to all participants.
- Healthy Bodies Healthy Minds is an inclusive sport and physical activity programme managed by Team Durham. It delivers dance and sport to participants with mental health issues, ASD and learning disabilities.
- Active steps outreach programme is a community intervention programme aimed at getting adults, that may be vulnerable and at risk of making poor health/lifestyle choices, back into physical activity.
- Fitness classes are offered to staff, students and the community to become healthier and more active.
- Second chance focuses on working with participants in areas of deprivation, well-being inequality, mental health, homeless, substance misuse clients, vulnerable women and youth offenders
