Q. The holiday camps look great! How do I book places for my kids?
A. Our next camps will be taking place over the Summer Holidays, bookings are now open and you can find more information in the navigation on the left. We have recently moved to a new online payment system where you'll be able to book as many days as you like and pay online. If you'd like to book places for more than one of our camps simply complete another booking form for each camp you'd like to book onto.
Q. How will I know if you've recieved my booking?
A. Once you've completed our online booking form and made your payment you will recieve an email confirming the details you've submmitted and the dates you have booked! If you have any problems or queries at this stage just get in touch and have your booking reference number handy to help us track your booking.
Q. What does my child need to bring along for a day at camp?
A. Here's a short kit list of what to bring along for an action packed day at camp:
- Trainers (that can be used both inside and outside)
- Suitable clothing for playing sport indoor such as shorts and t-shirt (skirts and dresses are not appropriate)
- Layers for outside activities (Jumper, tracksuit bottoms, hat)
- Protection from the sun (Sunblock and sunhat)
- Drinks bottle (labelled with name)
- Rainproof jacket
- Lunch and snacks (we have two snack breaks during the day)
- Children should not be wearing jewellery (earrings that cannot be removed should be covered).
Please don't bring along a mobile phone, although we will do our upmost to keep your child’s belongings safe, we take no responsibility for any damage or loss of property during the Sports Camps. To help with this we would advise that you label all clothing and drinks bottles and ensure that at the end of each day your child has everything that they arrived with.
Q. What does a typical day on camps look like?
A. If you have a look on our Multi Sports page you can see a sample timetable of activities - they will obviously very depending on the camp but most follow a similar structure. If you have any specific questions about a camp programme please get in touch!
Q. My child is ill and can't make it to camp, what's your cancellation policy?
A. Our policy states that 48 hours’ notice is required if you wish to cancel any days you have booked with Team Durham Holiday camps. We reserve the right to charge the standard daily fee for any days where notice of cancellation is not received 48 hours before your child is due at camp. Q. We'll need to leave early from camp for our family holiday can we book half a day?
A. Unfortunately you can't book onto the camps for only part of a day, but if you do need to pick up your child at any point during the camps (whether for a family holiday or dentist appointment!) simply let staff know at registration on the day and we'll do our best to make sure your child is ready on time!
Q. Where's The Graham Sports Centre? Is there any parking available?
A. You'll find us at Maiden Castle on Stockton Road, DH1 3SE. You can search for directions by car or public transport with Google Maps. There will be plenty of room for you to park to drop off your children but due to a new parking enforcement if you aren't using the centre or picking up your children you may be fined for parking on site. Don't worry - this won't affect you dropping off or picking up your children but please remember to sign in if you'll be coming along early to use the gym!
Q. Will my child be in a group of children with their friends?
A. On most of our camps we group children by age so that they can enjoy a whole day of fun and engaging activities appropriate to their age. Making new friends is a key part of our summer camps and our friendly coaches and staff are around to make sure eveyrone has a great time! However, if you have any particular concerns please do get in touch and we'd be happy to help!
