Nutritional Support Programme

ALDI is the proud sponsor of the Nutritional Support Programme

The nutritional support programme is working to provide athletes with the information and guidance they require on diet and the benefits of good nutrition. Through nutritional guidance seminars and additional nutritional information, ALDI are supporting athletes of Team Durham to maximise their potential, both on and off the field. Nutrition is important, not only for sporting endeavours but also for allowing you to work or study in the most efficient manner!

Guidance seminars will be given each term to inform students what they should be eating pre-, during and post- exercise and advice for the academic holidays, followed by the opportunity to hear from Directors and Area Managers who have gone through ALDI’s graduate scheme. This will show how your leadership abilities and competencies may make you an ideal candidate to work for the 4th ranked graduate employer in the Times Top 100 graduate employers.

ALDI ‘Careers like no other’

Dating back to 1913 in a small suburb of Essen in German, Aldi is now one of the most reputable retailers in the global business market today. With a simple goal of providing great value and quality, using leaner and smarter business processes, we’re a supermarket that’s getting it right. We’re winning all kinds of awards and new stores are springing up all over the country as we rapidly increase our market share.

The things that make us a great retailer, also make us a great employer. There’s a real sense of clarity: everyone knows what’s expected of them and they can see how their efforts fit into the bigger picture. We’re a very responsible company, always treating our people with decency and respect. Progression is based on merit and it’s easy to see how you can achieve personal success. And, perhaps more importantly, we’re really open. Open to fresh ideas and new perspectives that will help us to become even better. It’s a fantastic place for young people who are willing to work hard and learn from the very best.

ALDI wants graduates to come in as a Trainee Area Manager and run their own multi-million pound business within a year. Join and you’ll grow into the kind of leader you’ll be proud of.

ALDI’s Industrial Placements are perfect for degree students who are fascinated by retail and hungry for progression. With a great mix of theory and hands-on experience, this year-long programme gives individuals a rare snapshot of life at Aldi, with the possibility of applying to join our Area Manager programme.

So if you have:

  • That extra ‘sparkle’
  • Focused, resourceful and ready to drive productivity
  • A 2:1 degree
  • A driving licence
