Club Captain: Lucas Mccollum
The Durham University Men’s Lacrosse club is the only club in Britain to boast 3 teams, each carrying their own unique personality. Whilst fast growing, men’s lacrosse is still a minority sport and so the 3rd team is primarily designed for coaching, helping students go from zero to hero as they learn to master the best sport ever invented.
Athletes who prove themselves in the 3rd team will have a chance to then play in the 2nd team, where they will play to a higher level and develop their skills. The learning curve steepens, the stakes are higher, but the rewards are plentiful. Both these teams benefit from the input and coaching of some of the best lacrosse players in the country, recruited from overseas to play amongst the brits who make it to the 1st team.
The 1st team boasts an impressive track record; since men’s lacrosse became a BUCS sport Durham 1st’s have finished on top every year, as well as winning 6 out of a total 7 national championships.
From rookie to expert, our lacrosse programme brings out the best in its participants and with Durham recently being awarded the 2015 Times and Sunday Times Sports University of the year, there is no better place to play lacrosse.
