The Women’s Lacrosse Club is for the first year ever comprised of five teams, ranging from National players to those who have never picked up a stick prior to coming to Durham. All of the five teams compete in their respective divisions within BUCS (British Universities and College Sport). Both the 1st and 2nd teams won the BUCS Gold Medal in the Premiership and 1st Northern Division in 2014 – an example of the exceptional standard of Lacrosse played here at Durham.

The club as a whole benefits from World Class coaching, as well as use of top class facilities including a high performance gym. The club is coached by Anna Sody, former German National Coach, with the assistance of our three international players. Practices are accompanies by fitness sessions with Durham’s infamous Cameron Henderson, and performance sessions with our Strength and Conditions coach, Jon. Here at Durham there is a high emphasis on the importance of extra training for strength and speed as well as improving stick work, tactical play and scrimmage work.

This year we now have Durham 1st in the Premier North League, 2nds in Northern 1A League, 3rds, 4ths and 5ths in Northern 2B; a fantastic achievement for the club.
