Junior Outreach

Children and Young People Programmes

Our after-school clubs are fun, friendly and perfect for children wanting to learn a new sport. The sessions are delivered by qualified coaches and student volunteers, who focus on teaching the fundamentals of sports (balance, coordination and agility) as well as sport-specific skills, meeting the needs for each individual.

Whether your child has never played before or played 100 times, our junior programmes are open to all. We strive for fun sessions with the bonus of skill development in a non-competitive environment. Therefore weekly competitions are not held.

Sessions are of a drop-in nature, paying weekly. However, please contact Katie Binks at katie.binks@durham.ac.uk to check space availability and confirmation of attendance. All programmes are held at Maiden Castle in the Sports Hall, however during summer they are run outside so check on the day which facility to go to.

Please note that these after-school clubs run term time only. During the school holidays we move onto our Team Durham Holiday Camps programme.
